Fellowship of the Globe

Theme: Fellowship

Apologies to our dear readers as due to some minor logistics mix-up, we will proceed with our first meeting blog post with the Bring Your Friend Day meeting instead of the Exco-Installation meeting as promised.

BAT Toastmasters 22nd Club meeting on the 24th of October, 2012 celebrated the Toastmasters “Fellowship” gracefully with the theme being Bring a Friend! Each of the club members were encouraged to bring an outside guest to the meeting to experience the professional meeting with interesting speeches and mind-boggling table topics as well as success celebration at the end.

This meeting was called to order by Sergeant-At-Arms Marvin Miod, TM at 12.15pm, slightly behind time as our President, CC Lee Han Ther was accidentally locked out of the meeting room for a few minutes. Anyways, please follow the link below to watch the opening speech video:

On the other hand, we were extremely delighted to have a record number of attendees for this meeting! Bravo to all club members for churning up the numbers! Special mention goes to our very own Area Governor, Odett Liew for being the member that brought the most guests. :)

Word of The Day : "Fellowship"

P2 (Organize Your Speech) : Butterfly by Abdul Matin, TM

Due to an unforeseen incident, Matin's speech could not be recorded as well! Well, it's our first attempt at recording speeches, so please bear with us.

We also have a speech from the Advanced Manual :

AP5 (Oratorical Speech) : Mandate for Greatness by Peter Yeoh, ACS, CL

***As the file size for the video is large, we will attempt to upload the shortly.

Table topics session went well and the topic was indeed interesting. Do enjoy the video below on how our participants fare:

Unfortunately, there wasn't any recording of the evaluation session this round, perhaps everyone was still amused and entertained from the table topics speakers.

In conclusion, all good things must come to an end, with the meeting adjourned on time at 2.20pm. Well good things did continue afterwards with a good sumptuous lunch provided to all attendees. :)

Photos of the day:

Table Topics Master of the day, Masheed kick-starting the ever interesting event. This round of table topics is made even more interesting with participants being required to continue the speech based on the last word from the last participant. :)
